volevo sperimentare con tessuti nuovi per me e trovando questi metraggi ridotti la scelta si è rivelata molto conveniente. E comunque i materiali rimangono di qualità e recuperati con cura.
Fashion Beyond Waste is the curatorial format created by Zerow to explore new perspectives on circular fashion through the reuse of materials and creative experimentation.
Each edition brings together designers, brands and creative projects that work with recovered materials or production surpluses, creating a meeting point between research, design and innovation.
A new epicentre for circular fashion
Fashion Beyond Waste is a cultural and sensory experience that connects creativity, sustainability and regeneration.
Created by Zerow, the project takes the form of a collective exhibition bringing together an international selection of brands and designers — emerging and established — committed to research into upcycling, creative reuse and regenerated materials. A meeting point where you can discover up close the processes, collections and experiments of those rewriting the rules of fashion.
Each edition is built as a choral narrative, in which the protagonists interpret the theme of circular fashion through total looks or capsule collections made with recovered or deadstock materials. The exhibitions engage with the architectural spaces that host them, becoming places of reflection and shared inspiration.
The First Edition
The first edition of Fashion Beyond Waste took place in Florence from 17 to 19 January 2025, during Pitti Uomo.
Hosted at Spazio Sassetti, the event marked the official debut of the format, bringing to light a careful selection of 14 brands and projects linked to upcycling and textile regeneration.
Special guest Rereri, a brand that weaves Florentine craftsmanship with sustainable research, led an interactive workshop, offering visitors a unique learning experience. Rereri's artisans showed live every stage in the making of a bag from the new Margherita collection, made with fine leathers recovered from the archives of the great luxury houses
The space, known as an artists' residence and centre for contemporary art exhibitions in the heart of the historic centre, provided an intimate and evocative setting.
An evolving project
Fashion Beyond Waste is conceived as a project in constant evolution, growing through new editions and collaborations.
After its debut in Florence, the format has continued to develop, involving new brands and designers with different backgrounds and languages but united by the same urgency: to give new life to what has already been produced and would otherwise be considered waste.
Where others see waste, ZEROW chooses to see possibility. The goal is clear: to actively help transform fashion into a more ethical, resilient and regenerative system.
