volevo sperimentare con tessuti nuovi per me e trovando questi metraggi ridotti la scelta si è rivelata molto conveniente. E comunque i materiali rimangono di qualità e recuperati con cura.
Fashion Beyond Waste is the curatorial format created by Zerow to explore new perspectives on circular fashion through the reuse of materials and creative experimentation.
Each edition brings together designers, brands and creative projects that work with recovered materials or production surpluses, creating a meeting point between research, design and innovation.
Fashion Beyond Waste
Created by Zerow, Fashion Beyond Waste is a curatorial format born from the desire to rethink fashion and materials, imagining a system where what is considered "waste" becomes a new creative opportunity.
Each edition brings together designers, brands and the public in an experiential journey through recovered materials, sustainable practices and artistic and design experiments.
The selected designers and brands interpret the theme of circular fashion through total looks or capsule collections made with recovered or deadstock materials. The exhibitions engage with the architectural spaces that host them, becoming places of reflection, inspiration and exchange.
The Second Edition
The second edition chose Villa Biagiotti, a historic residence in the heart of Florence, as the ideal place to turn forgotten spaces into a new creative epicentre.
The building, now disused, retains a decadent and powerful charm, capable of evoking the very idea of transformation and rebirth in dialogue with the concept of the event: what is abandoned or considered waste can become new value.
More than 37 international brands took part in the event, including leading names such as Lubello, Noell Maggini, Rosamund Muir and emerging designers from all over the world. Brands and designers with different backgrounds and languages but united by the same urgency: to rethink fashion, give value to regenerated materials and prove that sustainability and creativity can coexist.
Conversations looking to the future
Alongside the exhibitions, the talks were also key moments of reflection and discussion during the event.
Leading figures in the industry such as Sara Maino Sozzani and Orsola de Castro shared their experience in the world of sustainable fashion, prompting in-depth discussions on ethical production, creative reuse and the cultural transformation of the fashion system.
The discussions highlighted how sustainable practices, innovation and responsibility can coexist in the design and production of contemporary fashion. From the choice of materials to the creative process, from responsible production models to consumer education, each contribution helped draw guidelines for circular fashion
Fashion Beyond Waste is an invitation to rethink fashion: turning surpluses into value through creativity, collaboration and innovation.
