Privacy Policy — Zerow Cut to Size

This Privacy Policy explains how the "Zerow Cut to Size" app ("the App"), provided by Zerow SRL ("we", "us"), handles data when a merchant installs and uses it on their Shopify store.

Who we are

The App is developed and operated by Zerow SRL. For any privacy-related question, contact us at plichota@zerow.it.

What the App does

The App lets a store sell products by length: customers choose a custom cut length from a roll or buy the whole roll, and the correct price is applied at checkout. To do this, the App creates the metafield definitions it needs and sets up an automatic discount that applies at checkout.

What data we process

When installed, the App accesses and processes the following data through Shopify's APIs:

• Store information: the store domain and the access token issued by Shopify during installation, used to authenticate the App.
• Product and variant data: including the metafields used to enable and configure selling by length.

The App does not access orders or customer personal data. Price calculation at checkout is performed by Shopify's discount function, which reads product metafields and cart line properties at that moment, without storing them.

Session and installation data

To keep the App installed and authenticated, session data (including the store domain and access token) is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS), in a data center located in the European Union (Ireland, eu-west-1). This data is used solely to operate the App and is deleted when the App is uninstalled.

How we use the data

We use session and installation data only to:

• authenticate the store and complete the App installation;
• keep the App installed and connected to the store;
• respond to Shopify's mandatory data and privacy requests.

Cut-to-length pricing and whole-roll discounts are calculated at checkout by Shopify's discount function, which reads product metafields and cart line properties. This calculation does not use session data or require access to data stored by the App.

We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third parties for their own purposes.

Third-party services

• Shopify: the platform the App runs on; data is exchanged through Shopify's official APIs.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS): hosting and session storage, in the European Union.

These providers act as data processors on our behalf.

Data retention and deletion

Session and installation data is retained while the App is installed and removed when the merchant uninstalls the App. The App complies with Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks:

• customers/data_request: requests to view stored customer data;
• customers/redact: requests to delete customer data;
• shop/redact: deletion of shop data after uninstall.

A merchant or customer can request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data by contacting us at plichota@zerow.it.

Data security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored using access-controlled AWS services. Access to stored data is restricted to what is necessary to operate the App.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
